BOLIVAR, Mo. – Southwest Baptist University invites the public to a benefit concert featuring the band Big Smith at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 7, in Pike Auditorium

SBU’s Director of University Ministries Kurt Caddy was able to take two teams to Pine Ridge Indian Reservation last year.  Caddy said, “It was an amazing experience that still impacts my life.  Pine Ridge is the poorest county in the United States.  The Lakota people have so many needs. Due to the 80% unemployment rate and an average annual income of under $6000 it is nearly impossible to provide a Christmas for a family. This concert will be great family event of music and friendship.”

“Due to the generosity of Big Smith and the other musicians participating,” Caddy said, “all proceeds from the concert will go to the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation to help provide a Christmas celebration for their children.”
