BOLIVAR, Mo. – The Southwest Baptist University Chorale will present its Fall Concert 7:30 p.m. Thursday, November 11, in Pike Auditorium on the Bolivar campus. Admission is free and a reception for the audience will be held afterward backstage.
The Chorale will perform literature from the early 16th century to the present. The program will include motets by Morales, Poulenc, and Lauridsen as well as selections that showcase an eclectic variety of choral music not usually found on the same program.
The Chorale is a selectively auditioned mixed choir specializing in a cappella music. The Chorale will have completed a three-state performance tour this fall, capping off a year that saw them performing at Missouri Baptist Convention and a successful tour of Austria and the Czech Republic. The ensemble is under the direction of James R. Tarrant, director of choral studies and professor of music at Southwest Baptist University.
