Minneapolis, MN – Southwest Baptist University’s Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) team recently traveled to Minneapolis, Minn., to compete against other regional champion teams in the SIFE USA National Exposition. SBU SIFE qualified to compete in this final stage of competition at the national level by qualifying at the SIFE USA Regional Competition in Atlanta, Georgia, one of 12 SIFE Regional Competitions held around the country throughout March and April.
SBU SIFE presented on the projects they completed in 2010-2011 and were judged on the new SIFE judging criterion: “Considering the relevant social, economic, and environmental factors, which SIFE team most effectively empowered people in need by applying business and economic concepts and an entrepreneurial approach to improve their quality of life and standard of living?” SBU SIFE showcased its projects that effectively addressed the “triple bottom line” of people, planet, and profit.

Based on their competition performance, SBU SIFE was designated as a runner-up in their league and, therefore, is ranked as one of the top-40 teams out of the 600+ total SIFE teams in the USA.
