SBU’s Dr. Bob Glasgow Presents at Tan-Tar-A Resort

BOLIVAR, Mo. – Southwest Baptist University Mathematics Professor Dr. Bob Glasgow, recently gave four presentations at the Interface A and B conferences at Tan-Tar-A Resort in Osage Beach, Mo.

Interface A is an annual professional development conference sponsored by the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education for teachers of grades K-6. Dr. Glasgow and Nancy Bergfeld, a middle school math teacher from Valley Park School District, presented two 90 minute sessions entitled "Take A Chance Carnival". The sessions examined the mathematical probability of various games of chance played by participants. The mathematics was geared towards middle school students. About 30 elementary and middle school teachers attended the sessions.

Interface B is an annual professional development conference sponsored by the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education for teachers of grades 7-12. Dr. Glasgow and Nancy Bergfeld presented two more 90 minute sessions titled "Take A Chance Carnival". The sessions examined the mathematical probability of various games of chance played by participants. The mathematics was geared towards high school students. About 75 high school teachers attended the sessions.
