SBU to Recognize Victims of 9/11 Attacks

BOLIVAR, Mo. -- With respect and recognition for those who lost their lives on September 11, 2001, Southwest Baptist University’s Student Government Association has planned a special week to recognize the victims of the 9/11 attacks. This recognition will include a time of prayer for those still affected by that day. Preceding each weekday’s prayer service, the deceased victims’ names will be read that correspond to each location.

Tuesday, September 6, at 8 p.m, a prayer service will be held for those affected by the events at the Pentagon.

Wednesday, September 7, at 8 p.m., a prayer service will be held for those affected by the events of Flight 93.

Thursday, September 8, at 8 p.m., a prayer service will be held for those affected by the events of the World Trade Center.

The week will be concluded with a memorial service on Sunday, September 11, at 8 p.m., that will feature a special tribute to the victims. Each of the week’s events will be held in the Goodson Student Union on SBU’s Bolivar campus.
