BOLIVAR, Mo. – Southwest Baptist University will be celebrating Homecoming 2011 on Friday, October 28, and Saturday, October 29. Students will begin their activities earlier in the week with traditional events such as "Spirit Chapel" and "Bed Races." This year’s theme is “Cirque Du Southwest.”
Alumni will have the opportunity to catch up with classmates on Friday at a pre-dinner social followed by a banquet. On Saturday, everyone is invited to the parade starting at 11:00 a.m., followed by the football game where the SBU Bearcats face the Griffons of Northwest Missouri State University at 2:00 p.m.
Approximately 2,000 SBU alumni and their families are expected to come to Bolivar for the homecoming events. Bolivar businesses are encouraged to decorate their windows using the homecoming theme and the SBU school colors, purple and white.

Reunion Class Pre-Dinner Social
If you are a member of one of this year’s reunion classes, come early on Friday night (5:30 p.m.) for a pre-dinner get together. Enjoy free refreshments as you reconnect with your classmates. Photos of each reunion class will also be taken according to the following schedule:
1951 – 5:40 p.m.
1961 – 5:50 p.m.
1971 – 6:00 p.m.
1981 – 6:05 p.m.
1991 – 6:10 p.m.
2001 – 6:15 p.m.
Alumni Banquet
Friday, October 28, at 6:30 p.m., alumni are invited to join us for the Alumni Banquet in Mellers Dining Commons. The cost is $11.00 per person. SBU will be honoring the Life Service Award recipients, both present and past. Childcare will be provided for children ages 12 and under for $6.00 per child. Banquet tickets may be purchased at the registration booth.
Lunch/Clubs Connect
All current students and alumni are welcome on Saturday after the parade in Mellers Dining Commons for lunch and a clubs and organizations reunion. Meet current students, connect with alumni, and see how SBU clubs and organizations have evolved over the years.
Registration Prize
The Office of Alumni Relations is giving away a gift card worth $350 to Big Cedar Lodge near Branson, MO. The gift card may be applied to any service offered by the hotel and is also redeemable at any Bass Pro Shops! The winner will be drawn from the pool of alumni who register for and attend Homecoming. Please stop by the registration center in the Goodson Student Union before 12:00 p.m. on Saturday to confirm your eligibility.
