SBU Opera Workshop
performance is April 11
BOLIVAR, Mo. – SBU's Opera Workshop is presenting its second scene program of the academic year at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, April 11, in the Meyer Recital Hall in the Casebolt Music Building.
BOLIVAR, Mo. – SBU's Opera Workshop is presenting its second scene program of the academic year at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, April 11, in the Meyer Recital Hall in the Casebolt Music Building.
After a fully staged production of Mozart's “Cosi fan tutte,” or “The School for Lovers,” in March, five staged
scenes from operetta and opera will be performed. The production will be
accompanied by Sara Miller.
The scene program will include pieces from Gilbert and
Sullivan's “The Pirates of Penzance” and “The
Mikado,” Mozart’s “The Marriage of Figaro” and
Donizetti's ”The Elixir of Love.” The
performance will last about 35 minutes and is free to the public, said stage
director Jane Munson-Berg, Associate Professor of Voice and Opera.
