Plaster Foundation
donates to SBU Turf and Track project
BOLIVAR, Mo. —Southwest Baptist
University’s Turf and Track project has received a substantial six-figure gift
from the Robert W. Plaster Foundation Inc. toward the University’s $1.5 million
Turf and Track Renovation project.
“We
sincerely appreciate the support we’ve gotten from the Robert W. Plaster
Foundation,” said SBU President Dr. C. Pat Taylor. “Our SBU campus environment
is improved and we can serve students better because of the generosity of Bob
Plaster and now the Foundation.”
SBU’s
football stadium was named in honor of Plaster, who was a major contributor to
the project when it was built in 1985.
The
stadium’s grass field will be replaced with a safer, all-weather synthetic turf
for the football and soccer programs, as well as a state-of-the-art competition
track. The stadium press box will be renovated as part of the project.
“We’re
excited about this project,” Dr. Taylor said. “It will improve the playing field
for our SBU Bearcats and the Bolivar High School football team, as well.”
