SBU professor becomes Certified Government Financial Manager

BOLIVAR, Mo.Sharla Bailey, assistant professor of accounting at Southwest Baptist University, has successfully completed the requirements by examination of the Association of Government Accountants (AGA) to receive the designation of Certified Government Financial Manager (CGFM).

AGA’s CGFM program is intended to help meet the critical need for increased emphasis of the professional qualifications and stature of government financial managers. The professional designation of CGFM recognizes the unique skills and special knowledge required of professionals who specialize in government financial management.

Bailey graduated from SBU (then Southwest Baptist College) in 1981 and joined the SBU faculty in 1994. Bailey teaches courses in the areas of financial, managerial, and governmental accounting.
