SBU Student to Present at College Music Society Conference

BOLIVAR, Mo. – Southwest Baptist University music and communications student, Taylor Katz, a senior from Hampton, Iowa, was selected to present part of his SBU Honors Program Capstone research at the College Music Society Great Lakes Regional Conference. The conference will take place at Harper College in Chicago, Ill. on March 30-31, 2012.

Katz will present his paper, "God and Gaga: Music as a Communication of Religious Ideas," as part of the student competition.

Katz will represent SBU in front of musicologists, professors, and fellow students from universities throughout Michigan, Ohio, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Minnesota, Wisconsin, South Dakota, North Dakota, Manitoba, Ontario, and Quebec, including renowned music schools such as the University of Michigan, the University of Illinois, and the University of Indiana.
