WASHINGTON, DC – Jordan Lee Taylor, a junior accounting and marketing dual-major at Southwest Baptist University, recently began a summer-long internship with The Heritage Foundation in Washington DC. Taylor was selected for this internship earlier this year based on his application and writing samples, academic record, extracurricular involvement and professional/educational recommendations.
Founded in 1973, The Heritage Foundation is a research and educational institution whose mission is to formulate and promote conservative public policies based on the principles of free enterprise, limited government, individual freedom, traditional American values and a strong national defense.
Heritage’s staff pursues this mission by performing timely, accurate research on key policy issues, and effectively marketing these findings to its primary audiences: members of Congress, key congressional staff members, policymakers in the executive branch, the nation’s news media and the academic and policy communities.
Taylor is working as the accounting/finance intern for The Heritage Foundation and living in the adjacent Johnson Building, both of which are located on Massachusetts Avenue, several blocks from the U.S. Capitol Building. In addition to his work in the accounting and finance offices, Taylor will work on various policy research and other assignments throughout the summer.
