Wind Symphony
selected to perform at MMEA conference
BOLIVAR, Mo. — Southwest Baptist
University’s Wind Symphony has been selected by audition as one of two
university bands to perform at the Missouri Music Educators Association 76th
Annual In-Service Workshop/Conference Jan. 22-25, 2014, at the Tan-Tar-A resort
in Osage Beach.
“The
opportunity to perform for one's peers and colleagues in the field is certainly
a challenge, but also an honor well deserved by the students in the Wind
Symphony,” said Brian K. Hopwood, DMA, associate professor, director of
instrumental studies and Wind Symphony conductor. “Being selected from among
hundreds of submissions is a testament to the quality of our students, faculty
and institution. We are excited for the chance to represent SBU in front of
hundreds of music educators in our state.”
The
performance is scheduled for 2:15 p.m. Friday, Jan. 24, in Salon A of the Grand
Ballroom.
For
