SBU presents women’s
vocal ensemble
BOLIVAR, Mo. – Bella Voce, the women’s vocal ensemble of Southwest Baptist University, will present its spring concert at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 9, in the Meyer Recital Hall on the Bolivar campus. The concert is free and open to the public.
The
ensemble of 13 singers, under the direction of Dr. James R. Tarrant, professor
of music and director of choral studies, will present a wide-ranging repertoire
of music specifically composed for the female voice. Genres include folk,
aleotoric and contemporary music such as “Amdiemus” by Karl Jenkins, “Banks of
Doon” by Donna Schultz, and “Chili con carne,” made popular by the Real Group
and its leader, Anders Edenroth.
