SBU Access Control Coordinator receives professional certification

BOLIVAR, Mo. – Darren Farris, Access Control Coordinator at Southwest Baptist University recently earned the Certified Protection Officer (CPO) title. The CPO test was administered by the International Federation of Protection Officers (IFPO). Farris studied 10,000 educational slides, completed a 320-question test and scored a 91-percent overall.

The CPO certification is the second-highest professional designation in the security recognition, according to Director of Safety and Security Mark Grabowski. Farris plans to continue his training by pursuing the highest security designation (Certified Protection Professional) in the next couple of years.

The IFPO was established in 1988 to facilitate the training and certification of protection officers and security supervisors from both the commercial and proprietary sectors.
