BOLIVAR, Mo. – Southwest Baptist University is restricting water usage per a request from the City of Bolivar.

SBU Director of the Physical Plant Bob Glidwell said, “At this time, we are restricting water usage for our sprinkler systems on campus.

“We have completely shut off the sprinkler system that waters the front lawn of Sells Administration Building, the front entrance system, and the Walk of Life.  We have scaled back [watering] on the athletic fields from every day for approximately 11 hours to 3 days a week for approximately 7 hours.”

Plans are being considered for an official request for students to conserve water as the drought continues, Glidwell said.
