Windstream completes $75,000 pledge
for SBU entrance
BOLIVAR, Mo. — Windstream Communications Inc. presented the final payment in a
$75,000 pledge to Southwest Baptist University June 6.
The donation was for
construction of the Jim Sells Front Entrance, a single entrance to the
university on Springfield Avenue that was completed in 2008, and a fence near
the edge of SBU’s property along Springfield Avenue and Aldrich Road.
“We are pleased to
participate in this project,” said Dave Davis, a Windstream account executive.
“Our relationship with SBU has always been strong, and we look forward to
continuing that relationship.”
“We
appreciate Windstream partnering with us on this and other projects that
benefit not only our SBU family but the entire Bolivar community,” said SBU
President Dr. C. Pat Taylor. “The new front entrance has given a clear
definition to entry into the SBU campus. The plan is now to continue the fence
along Springfield Avenue and a portion of Aldrich Road to provide a clear
distinction to the perimeter of the SBU campus.”
